For this dvd, Cab Ride No.14/36, we take a ride along the old London & South Western  route out of Waterloo station in south London for the South West.

Our journey takes us eventually to Exeter, but the first section is to Salisbury and the one-time change over point for locomotives operating ‘The Atlantic Coast Express’. The locomotive used on the service to Salisbury was Class 50 diesel No. 50033 Glorious, which departed at 11.15 on 25th July 1990. Driver D. Libby was in charge, with Traction Inspector P. Gammon in the cab.

The second section of this dvd cab ride was filmed on 5th August 1987 on the 10.37 Salisbury to Exeter service, which started out from Waterloo at 09.10. Driver Alf Trapnall from Exeter and Inspector Alfred Cooke from Salisbury were in the cab.
