Cab Ride No 28 – Skipton to Carlisle (S&C)

This dvd, Cab Ride No.28, was recorded from the cab of 47444 on the 10.45 from Leeds to Carlisle on 31st January 1990 over the famous Settle & Carlisle Railway, on the section over the “Long Drag”, up through Settle, over Ribblehead and Ais Gill, down through Kirkby Stephen and Appleby, along the Eden Valley to Carlisle.
The weather was fair, except for a light dousing of rain at the northern end, on a very interesting section of wrong-line running from Long Meg to Howe and Co’s Sidings.
We would like to thank London Midland Region Public Affairs Department for arranging this journey and to Inspector Bob Coe and Drivers Ian Hodgeson and ‘Tug’ Wilson.
