A selection of archive films covering the whole county of Yorkshire, including Main Lines around York and Doncaster, Leeds, Bradford, Keighley, the Settle-Carlisle Line, the Grassington Branch and North Yorkshire Moors, with fascinating footage of the East Coast Main Line in the 1930s.
This is a tour around the railways of the county using rare, mostly unseen, film footage.
Yorkshire is a very diverse county, with splendid scenic routes, such as the Settle-Carlisle, blended with the great cities and industrial areas of the south.
Included in this dvd, are views of steam operation in all the major towns and cities including York and Doncaster.
We see a particularly detailed section in Harrogate, with the old route through to Ripon.
We have some rare 1930s footage of A4s on the East Coast Main Line and of a brake van ride from Leeds up the Settle-Carlisle line with a Jubilee!
So, sit back and enjoy this tribute to Yorkshire’s railways.
Approx. 55 minutes.
